Self-portraiture for me, unfolded as a way to release my creative tensions that might be unconventional for my regular client work. It feels like the only way to be vulnerable and release my insecurities as a Latina Woman in this world. It started small but has taken on a new meaning and force. A lot of my clients are women who inspire me with their personal stories of work and their broad business endeavors. I have found that most find it challenging to be in front of a camera. I realized that quickly by placing myself as my own subject. I have found I can relate to the challenges of being photographed the more I continue forward. I know the exact feeling you feel when you stand in front of my camera. I force myself to document my story because I believe it is important. Documenting our stories is important: for our brand, our culture, our business, and our families. Down the road when all we have left is memories, I want my children to remember the force behind my camera!
