The Real Reason Behind "Motherhood Minis"
As per usual, I woke up late last night, overthinking my every step…
and I thought to myself "what if people are offended I am calling this a "Motherhood" event?
Believe me, this is the crazy shit my brain does in the middle of the night!
But, here is the honest truth about this annual event.
Vulnerability is inevitable here…
Yes, I am a mama myself and I think all mothers deserve to be celebrated! That’s the obvious reason.
But these sessions are rooted in my heart and soul.
I lost my mother 11 years ago and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss her.
I know we've all endured way more tears than our bodies can produce in our lives and I am not trying to make this a pity party!
But…
When I became a mama it was extremely hard for me to celebrate Mother’s Day because I felt cheated. It felt like a day of mourning and not a reason to celebrate.
At first, being busy I didn’t have time to be sad or process my trauma. But as the years kept passing, it became a way for me to honor my loss and turn it into a celebration. I offer these mini-sessions every year now, not just as a random marketing strategy or plug. It became a way for me to deal with and overcome my internal pain.
This is also part of the reason, I choose to Celebrate the Shit out of everything…. because tomorrow is never promised!!!
Life is short and we shouldn't go one day without celebrating this life we get to live!
It has been excruciatingly challenging to live by this mantra for the last few years. These sessions are just what I need to help me and maybe you, celebrate yourself and one another and honor your journey on this earth!
