The Santa Cruz photographer workshop occurred at the Brothers Ranch in the Santa Cruz area and Monterey County, California! We were joined by local Santa Cruz Photographers from all over town and surrounding areas to get inspired and create a sense of community. The vibe was community over competition, and the level of creativity and inspiration did not disappoint!

To give you a complete feel of the workshop, weโ€™ve gathered reviews from attendees to provide complete insight into what the event was like from start to finish.

Thank you, photographers and creatives, and everyone, for stopping by!

โ€œThe Zero F#CKS Given Workshop took place down in Las Lomas, California, at a venue known as The Brothers Ranch.

The Brothers Ranch is a stunning little venue tucked away in Las Lomas. It boasts stunning views of the surrounding area and a large warehouse-style central building that was used.

While the ranch was a bit of a drive, it wasn't so far away that it felt tedious to get to.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by all three presenting photographers, and the energy was so warm and full of love that I was put at ease almost instantaneously. Introductions and chatting with the rest of the attending photographers while we waited to kick off were also great. Each individual is so unique and brings such an interesting perspective to everything. Oh and did I mention the endless supply of coffee and mouth-watering pastries that were available to keep us pushing through the day?

Leyla kicked everything off with a brief welcome speech, and then dove right into the "why" of the workshop. Leyla's presentation was raw, emotional, and moving. Leyla took time to remind all of us to always keep our "why" in the forefront of our minds. It is a driving force and so often forgotten when you're a hustler.

After the presentation, we put ourselves on the spot a bit and shared our whys (why photography?), our fears, and our excitement for the workshop. I felt so honored to be included in this circle of strong women, and the raw emotion we all felt as we went around the room was palpable.

Following a short respite from all the emotion, Tricia took the stage and gave a fantastic overview of branding photography. Tricia is a true superstar in her field. Tricia has extensive knowledge (and experience) in the branding industry, and getting the opportunity to pick her brain (especially with a branding opportunity coming up for me!) was priceless.
Tricia is concise, and kind and gave us so much "ammunition" if ever we want to jump into the field.

I also took a moment to connect with Tricia on a branding event coming up, and she was so ready to share the information, brainstorm pricing, and give me unfiltered feedback, and I am so, so grateful for it.

Lunch!! Lunch was amazing. We were taken care of by Platter Bites, and I don't know that I've ever seen such an astounding display of charcuterie and small bites.

After lunch, Kassandra gave a presentation on posing, planning for the unexpected, and wedding advice in general. As a photographer who is diving back into that world, this is the section of the workshop I was most excited about.
Kassandra is so fun and easy to connect with. Her presentation was full of life and laughs, and within all that, she was still driving top-tier advice our way.

Add in a live display of posing (Shoutout to Eric & Chris!), and how to plan for the unexpected, and I felt so fulfilled by this point.

Getting to work with live models and having a free range of shooting for a few hours following presentations may be the true highlight of the event. With all of us diving right into it, the energy in the space was magnetic. It is so exhilarating to be surrounded by people who want to create magic in the way that you do. It drives you to doโ€ฆ well, more.

All the models that the lead photographers provided for the day were phenomenal to work with. From Bee & Pascal, our maternity shoot, to Miranda who we shot some actual products (like.. Is this real life?) to Chris & Eric, newlyweds who donned their outfits one more time just for us, everything was simply magical.

This is my first workshop really, so I might be a little biased or a little caught up in the energy of it all, but I had such a phenomenal time and I don't think I would have changed a thing about it.

Thank you to Leyla, Tricia, and Kassandra for making the experience so wildly perfect.โ€

Here are more visuals of the curated details and the level of connection the workshop offered each guest, photographer, and model.

The venue @the_brothersranch was a perfect warm and spacious backdrop that set the mood.

The stunning florals were provided by @happypatchflowers

The delicious spread was provided by @platterbites

Photographers and workshop attendees were able to explore and document different models and take turns being photographed for personal content and branding. The vibe was casual lifestyle photography.

โ€œ When I first saw the zero Fโ€™s photography workshop on IG, I knew I had to attend!

Leylaโ€™s charismatic, realistic, straight to the point demeanor, along with her phenomenal photography skills, and loads of knowledge, really led me to believe that this was the workshop for me! And boy was I right!

I could not have asked for a better experience!

This workshop was amazing, to say the least!

We had the opportunity to hear from 3 different speakers, all with different backgrounds, perspectives and insights on photography!

The models, venue, food, sets, props, backdrops, EVERYTHING was STUNNING!

The diversity and sense of community that this workshop had, left me feeling happy and proud that I was able to be a part of it! It helped me realize how beautiful and special being a photographer truly is! I walked away with knowledge, confidence and direction for my small business, not to mention a bunch of new friends!

    I canโ€™t wait for the next Zero Fโ€™s workshop!โ€

โ€œThank you so much for putting your whole heart into such an amazing day!

The gorgeous space, the inspiring speakers including YOU, the beautiful and talented models, the amazing attendees and the lovely food - flowers - decor was beyond what I imagined. I'm still on cloud nine, and can't wait to get to editing my images. Culled down from 1800 to 600 so far

Thank you for all the recap and photo-sharing information. It was such a pleasure to meet you, Leyla. Thank you again for an awesome zero-f*cks day! I hope we can hang out again sometime soon!โ€
